September 2002 / Volume Three / Issue One
Jason Floyd Williams
free-range babysitter.

If I were in the business
of buying & selling kids,
I think I’ve missed
several good deals.
Like this 3yr old
who stopped his tricycle
to ask me repeatedly
what I was doing–
“Lawn work.”
“Why?”
“To get money.”
“Why?”
“Don’t you have a parent?”
The mother sent a 6yr old on a bicycle
to retrieve the sibling.
He asked me
what I was doing.

I could’ve gotten
at least a couple hundred
out of ‘em.
