Today's paper was a broken coffee-pot spill of multiple murders, individual murders, murders & suicide, government-supported murders, etc. And nestled between all these woesome tales, like a stranded kite around electrical wires, was an article about an abandoned baby in Africa that was rescued, & being cared for, by a stray-dog. It happens occasionally. Tarzan can testify to the gorillas' hospitality; wolves have brought infants up to like deer buffets; & gazelles have acted like Track & Field coaches to various toddlers. But today, today, that mangy stray-dog example felt a little more important. |
