all mammals produce milk.

Today's paper was a broken
coffee-pot spill of multiple murders,
individual murders, murders & suicide,
government-supported murders, etc.
And nestled between all these woesome tales,
like a stranded kite around
electrical wires, was an article
about an abandoned baby
in Africa that was rescued,
& being cared for, by a stray-dog.

It happens occasionally.

Tarzan can testify to the gorillas'  hospitality;
wolves have brought infants up to like deer buffets;
& gazelles have acted like Track & Field coaches
to various toddlers.

But today, today, that mangy stray-dog example
felt a little more important.
