The Grocery Store I Go To

Has terrible produce
Small and overripe
Gnats swarm the tomatoes

There are carts in the aisles
Solitary
Overburdened animals
Full of marked down products

Razors,
Gummies,
Dented cans,
Dollar spatulas,
Pajama bottoms

The credit card swipe says Welcome To Handy Andy
Milk is smeared on the conveyer belt
There is milk on the heel of my hand

The cashier is poor
Her hazel eyes fake and cheap
Press on nails
Powder pink like cotton candy

I get a stomach ache just looking at them
