John Oliver Hodges worked for many years as a professional photographer, and has traveled extensively in Mexico and Europe.  He is a motorcycle enthusiast who plays fiddle at the elbow.  He taught Humanities and English composition at the University of Alaska Southeast in 2005 and 2006 and he currently lives in Mississippi, where he attends the MFA program in writing at Ole Miss.  His poetry has appeared previously in Rattle, Mad Swirl, Steam Ticket, and The Southern Poetry Anthology.
