now at twenty two months
she takes up position on
the ground at the bottom
of her bed
utterly and comfortably
asleep without a pillow
or blanket
and with every effort
not to wake her I place
her back in her new bed
but still we
countdown the
seconds to sounds
that will draw you
back into her room
as she fakes teething
a little to get your
attention.
I do not know what
has prompted this
odd rebellion
but I don’t mind
her being so
different as
to be
distinctive.
