juxtaposition downtown at a patio bar

a couple comes around the corner
laughing, smiling
their arms around each other
than they stop
5 feet away from me
to look through the window
of a clothing store
where they point at something
exchange a few words
and kiss
before hurrying along down the street
arm in arm

my hand is holding the waist
of a brown bottle
while my cigarette kisses me
with carbon monoxide lipstick
and the only place iím rushing off to
is the bottom of this beer
so i can order
another one
