Our Calluses Burn Bridges

I was This tall and
I had lovers whose hands were
Too big for my body.

They all knew:
They could crush me.
It was an initiation,
An abortion of childhood.

Years later…

You ask me my name and
I ask for your fingers.
We push our palms together.

Just right.
