Our outlooks on gift-wrapping differ.
For her, it’s a matter of generating
some sense of anticipation. “Like lingerie,” she says.
“The whole point is in taking it off.”
For me, it’s a barrier– something to protect
a secret until the moment of revelation.
A chastity belt, as it were, for these possessions.
Even so, my wife and daughters like to save
and reuse the best paper so much, they’re angry
I use so much clear tape in my wrapping.
