Last week at work
on two separate
I was asked
if I was gay.
Both times I was
too shocked
to answer in any
meaningful or
even witty way,
I just shook
my head.
But later when I
thought about it,
I realised,
I am thirty-five years
old, unattached,
a writer of poetry,
who more
often that not
treats women
with a modicum
of courtesy and
respect, so what else
are people going
to think?
