we drank blackberry brandy
from the bottle we found
hidden in the bottom drawer
of my father’s filing cabinet
and I replaced the space
we made with water from
the kitchen faucet so he
wouldn’t suspect a thing
and then we went swimming
our bodies buoyant
as inflatable toys
